Around Wilkes-Barre, good coaches book up before each season, so ask about waiting lists and package rates rather than single lessons. Group clinics are the cheapest way for an adult beginner to get regular court time and a set of practice partners, and many programs across Pennsylvania sort players by NTRP level so matches stay competitive. League sign-ups happen a few weeks before each season through a club or a local USTA captain. Camps and junior academies usually require a short evaluation first; ask about scholarship or sliding-scale spots, which many non-profit tennis associations offer.

Wilkes-Barre is in Pennsylvania, in the Northeast, where four distinct seasons shape local life: hot humid summers, snowy winters that can close businesses for a day, and a dense pattern of towns where walking, transit and street parking all matter. US addresses list the street number and name, then the city, state abbreviation and ZIP code, and Wilkes-Barre follows the same pattern; a suite or apartment number such as Ste 200 refers to a unit inside the building. The map link on this page shows the exact spot.

This has to be the worst experience I have ever had in my life with a YMCA. I applied for the financial assistant and was granted a membership of $47 a month. I was a member here before and with the membership you had access to the steam room and the sauna. After I applied for the membership and gave them my credit card information they then informed me that if you want access to the steam room and the sauna there's an extra $25 you have to pay to rent a locker Per month! I immediately canceled my membership and wrote back to the director and advised him that I felt that was a bit ridiculous as they were never charging extra for the steam room and sauna before. I mentioned in my email to the director John Nolan that the reason I had to cancel my membership before was because the lifeguard would come in wearing no underwear and have his genitalia hanging out the side of his pants on several occasions. I assume this email upset Mr. John because he then called my phone and just about cursed me out!! The unprofessionalism from Mr. John Nolan was uncalled for and he needs to be retrained or fired! I have been a member of several YMCAs and this threatening Mr. Nolan guy called to int

Very well organized and ran. Located in what was once a church, the old stone structure is beautiful in its appearance and rather large. The Staff was quite friendly and helpful. We were there for a swimming session with our Scout Troop. The pool was clean and well organized. The Instructors and lifeguards were extremely attentive. Facility was clean with private changing rooms. Would Love to go back and see the rest of the building. This was an all around nice YMCA experience. Pay to park Parking lot directly across the street. Although, the YMCA did validate it for me at time of check in/registration. I'm not sure if this is a normal thing or if it was because we were there with the scouts. Would definitely recommend! We would be prone to join this YMCA if we lived closer.

I am extremely disappointed and frustrated with the before and aftercare services at the YMCA. My experience with Ms. Kelly was totally unacceptable - she was aggressive and yelling at my niece and nephew in a public setting, which is completely uncalled for. When I tried to address the situation with my sister present (their mom) Ms. Kelly started being defensive and not taking accountability for her and her staff's actions. I asked for her supervisor's information and she began to scream at me and yell their emails while I proceeded to walk away from her with my niece. To make matters worse a few days before my niece went missing from her school, Ms. Ashley refused to help myself and the school locate her. Stating the drivers won't answer the phone, this is crazy. There needs to be blue tooth installed for these types of emergencies when the arise with children. The lack of urgency and concern for these children and a child's safety is alarming. Parents and families trust childcare facilities to keep their children safe and treat the with respect. This experience left me shaken and questioning whether or not this is a safe and supportive environment for kids.

This ymca is nice because the gym is large and there are not a lot of people who go. They have a huge variety of machines and it is one of the nicest gyms iβve seen. The pool is a plus but more often than not, the pool will be closed for swim lessons or other events. The pool has been available when I wanted to use it about 30% of the time. The hours are atrocious. Especially weekend hours. This membership is not cheap, at least add better weekend hours for school aged kids. Last, all of the mothers and their children doing swim lessons steal every bathroom in the building. There are changing rooms but these mothers will use the bathrooms instead. When I need to use the bathroom while working out, it could take up to 15 minutes to find one open due to these mothers changing their children in the bathrooms. Update: The construction did not help anything because as a member we could go into the locker room to use a bathroom. But now being a member does not give you access to the locker room. You have to pay βextraβ on top of your membership to use a locker room. What is the point of being a member?
